About Kristina

Kristina Gaskins is a poet, essayist, and quiet provocateur whose work circles the great old questions — memory, lineage, becoming — and answers them gently, the way a grandmother answers a child's hardest question: with her hands still moving.

Her writing has been described as “editorial intimacy,” a phrase she has come to love. It is what she is after: prose and verse that feels like the inside of someone else's letter, the kind you were never meant to read, and somehow always were.

She believes in kintsugi — that what is broken in us, mended carefully, becomes the most luminous part of the whole. Her work is the gold she pours into the seams.
