Today I decided

That I can’t keep wishing,

and dreaming

and talking

and thinking

about who I want

to be

who I can be.

I can’t keep knowing

The gifts are inside me

but doing nothing

to let them out

and share them.

I can’t keep hiding

behind fear

numbing myself

with alcohol and sleep

because I’m too scared

to unlock myself,

open up myself,

face my demons,

put in the hard work

to finally release the dark

and let myself shine.

You must face the past

to begin to live in the future.

Only then

can you truly

fly.
